Annual Day Celebrations at COPS

Coorg Public School celebrated its 24th Annual Day with unprecedented fanfare on 5th October, 2019, paving way for the Silver Jubilee celebrations to be held the next year.

An exceptional quality programme was put up by the students that enthralled the audience. Mesmerising dances, Shakespeare’s Othello, rocking live music and the pleasant choirs   transported the audience into an exuberant world drawing loud applause.

Congratulating COPS on embarking on its 24th year successfully the Chief Guest of the function Mr. K S Devaiah, President of Kodava Samaj, Madikeri said that COPS had carved a niche in Kodagu setting a benchmark and parents should be proud of their kids studying at COPS. In his key note address he said that the social media which is largely used by the youth is fast eroding the norms and values of the traditional culture and hence stressed the need for reorientation. He distributed the prizes to the achievers & gave away the prestigious Cockhouse Trophy and the Academic Trophy to the Shishira House.

The President of the School Trust Mr. M M Thimmaiah presided over the function and complimented the staff & students for their                           contribution in taking the school to its acme of success. He also added that the world is fast changing and it is only with excellent education a child can manage change. Other trustees graced the occasion.

Dr. Benny Kuriakose, the Principal addressed the gathering and apprised parents about the present IX Annual Exams. He augmented that parents along with students cannot afford to lose sight of the fact that we must teach our children to grapple with the problems of their generation, their society and the world.

The cultural extravaganza culminated ushering in greetings of Cauvery Sankramana.
