COPS not only believes this but also practises it. COPS in collaboration with SAPARYA [Society for Education Excellence and Research] conducted the Mega CTSE [Coorg Talent Search Examination] on 12.01.2020 at General Thimayya Public School followed by a public function organised at the Town Hall, Madikeri which was graced by Mr. Appachu Ranjan, the Honourable MLA, Kodagu district, Dr. K D Jose, Secretary, SAPARYA, Mrs. Abeeda Sherin of Vidhyanikethan College, Gonikoppal , Mrs. Babeena of General Thimayya Public School, Madikeri.

Prior to this final exam, qualifier rounds were conducted in various schools and colleges at various levels from 16th November to 15th December, 2019, where 1427 students from 10th and 496 from 12th standard participated from around 45 schools in Coorg and Hassan district. Top ten rankers from each institution qualified for the mega event.  

The CTSE is a flagship programme of SAPARYA. This is the launch year of this programme and CTSE is a knowledge and aptitude test which was conducted in order to reach out, spot, reward and nurture talented students from across Kodagu district and aid them in fulfilling their career aspirations.

Providing quality education and tapping the potential of children is the idea of the Talent Search there by helping identifying the deserving. The first prize comprises a scholarship worth Rs. 2.5 lakhs, the second place a scholarship of 2 lakhs and third with a scholarship of 1.5 lakhs.

Amongst the 10th standards Mst. Ninal Nachappa of Coorg Public School, Gonikoppal bagged the first place followed by Ms. Ishita P Acharya, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Kodagu Vidyalaya, Madikeri at the second place and Mst. Prajwal M S, SMS Academy Aramery, Virajpet.

Amongst the 12th standards Mst. Yashwanth K R from Shastry PU College, Hunsur, Mst. Vishnu Priya M S from Cauvery College, Virajpet and Ms. S L Monika from St. Joseph’s PU College bagged the first, second and third places respectively.

Speaking on the occasion after lighting the lamp Mr. Appachu Ranjan stressed on how Kodagu though being a small place has contributed immensely towards the progress of the nation in various arenas and complemented COPS and SAPARYA for conducting such a wonderful programme for the first time in Kodagu benefitting the deserving students.

Dr. K D Jose, the Secretary of SAPRYA also spoke on the occasion stating clearly that students of Kodagu were capable of working wonders could complete with students well trained in the cities.

Mrs. Teena Machaiah rendered the prayer, Mrs. Veena welcomed the august gathering and Mrs. Krithika Devaiah thanked the audience. Mrs. Manasa read the report and announced the results. Mrs. Reshma Nachappa conducted the programme.
